Coleman Talley Sponsors Lanier County Historical Society's Annual Banquet
Coleman Talley LLP was a proud corporate sponsor of the Lanier County Historical Society’s Annual Banquet held March 26, 2011. Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens was the keynote speaker at the annual event held at the Jim and Mary Threatte Civic Center in Lakeland.
Attorney General Olens toured Lakeland with Mrs. Nell Patten Roquemore. Tom Kurrie participated with Mr. Olens on the tour, which included visiting downtown murals depicting Lakeland prior to 1925. Previously, Mrs. Roquemore coordinated an initiative for South Carolina based mural artist Ralph Waldrop to create murals on several downtown buildings from photographs of the era.
The Lanier County Historical Society is one of approximately 200 affiliate chapters of the Georgia Historical Society (GHS). Headquartered in Savannah, GHS is the “premier independent statewide institution responsible for collecting, examining, and teaching Georgia history.”
