Coleman Talley sponsored a ten (10) person table at the black-tie Hope for a Cure Gala which was hosted by the Atlanta Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at the Buckhead Intercontinental Hotel on Saturday, May 7, 2011. The Gala included both a silent auction and an extraordinary dinner. This grand event was attended by three of the partners in the firm and their spouses, Lisa and Noel Wannamaker, Keith and Julia Jernigan and John Boykin and Karen Cooper. Also attending were clients and friends of the firm, Walter Knoechel, of Cushman Wakefield, and his wife Beverly, Buzz Anderson, of Fiserv, Inc. and Hannah Esther. The JDRF provides funding for some of the most cutting edge research into identifying a cure for Type 1 Diabetes now being undertaken. The JDRF is also working diligently toward the perfection of what has come to be known as the artificial pancreas, which will hopefully make life much easier from the children and adults now suffering from this disease until a cure can be found. This is a charity dear to the hearts of Coleman Talley, as Mr. Boykin and his wife have an eight year old child suffering from Type 1 Diabetes. A wonderful and inspiring time was had by all, and just under 1.7 million dollars was raised on the floor of the hotel that evening.
